Surprised!

So today, as usual, we went in the pool for a little while. The kids don't seem to be enjoying the pool as much as they used to. I mean they still want to go outside, but they like playing on the swings more now. This is a picture of Madison after coming out of the pool, and I love the expression on her face, plus all of the drips of water which really shows that she was swimming. Curious as a Cat

So today we went in the pool, again. We have been going in the pool a lot lately! It was just such a humid today! It was so humid that Madison's hair got all poofy after I put it in the clip and it dried. This picture was taken before she was going to go down the slide. It looks like she is deciding whether she should go down it or not. I just thought that it was really cute! In this picture she is also wearing the Mr. Handyman hat from my dad, and her hair is all tucked under the hat in a little ponytail. Going Green

I can't believe we never noticed it, but today we saw our first pumpkin in the garden. It is a pretty big sized pumpkin too! It is about the size of a melon. It is still green, but I can't wait until we see all of the other pumpkins starting to grow. Well hopefully all of the pumpkins will be a good size when halloween comes around! Chirp, Chirp!

So tonight, when I was about to go to bed, I started hearing what sounded like beeping. I thought that it was coming from the computer, but once I put the computer to sleep, the noise was still going. I had no idea what the noise was until I looked up at the window blinds and saw this grasshopper just sitting there. It was so annoying, and I knew that I had to take a picture of him before he jumped away. Well every time I took a picture of this grasshopper, he would jump away. It took about 4 different shots to get this picture. Every time he would jump somewhere, I had to wait until he started chirping again to find him. Celebrating a New Life

So today we had another family party! It is so crazy because it is like we have a family party each week. That is what happens when you have as big a family as I do. Well this picture was taken before the baptism actually started. Idk why, but we got there a lot earlier than everybody else. We even got there before the baby getting baptized got there. PS: As some of you may have noticed, I did just post another blogpost with the same picture as this one. I have been trying out different ways to blog from my phone (hence the 'testing..' posts). Well I finally found one that I think should work. I will use this method if I am ever on vacation and don't have access to a computer or have no other way to post a picture. Empty the Pockets

So today, I took a picture for jpgmag.com. This is a really fun website where you upload your own photos and see if they cut it for a photography magazine. People can comment and 'favorite' all the photos that you submit. Well for this picture, you just had to show what you carry around with you everyday. Well this is everything that I have with me everyday besides the clothes on my back. I think thought that this was an awesome shot because it gives the idea that the phone is wearing the necklace. Think Outside the Box

So today we received the garment bag that we ordered online, and it came in this box. It was a pretty big box, so I decided to bring it downstairs and see what Madison would do with it. The second that I brought her to it, she climbed in and started opening and closing the box with her in it. It was so funny to see her playing with a box. Falling Daisies..

So today was a VERY rainy day! It was so droopy and dark all day. Well when this picture came to my mind, I just decided that I had to go outside and take it before I forgot about it. So I waited until the rain was just drizzling, and I ran outside and grabbed a flower. I dipped the flower in a puddle, and laid it on the concrete. I thought that this gave a really cool effect. I also took a close-up picture of the same flower where there are drips along the edge [PICTURE HERE]. It was a very hard decision to pick between the two pictures, but my sister helped me out. Lighting Up the Night..

Well looking back on today, I realized that I really didn't do anything interesting. I had in my mind all day that I would take a picture of the moon at night, but every time I would go outside and look for the moon, it wasn't there. It was so cloudy that the moon wasn't even visible. I had the moon on my mind because I just heard about the solar eclipse that is going to occur on August 1st! While looking outside for the moon, I noticed the flickering lanterns that we have outside. I decided that a picture of those would be the most interesting picture I was going to get at 10:30 at night. After taking the picture, I decided that the picture actually came out really cool. All of the bushes are lit up because of the lanterns and it gives it a really cool effect.

So today, I received the 35mm SLR camera that I won on Ebay. This is the kind of camera that I need for the photography class that I am going to be taking in the fall. I know that almost everyone is using digital nowadays (including me), but we need to use 35mm film for the class because we learn how to develop and do effects to photos. Sold Out..

So today, me and my dad had planned to go to the movies at night. We rushed at dinner so that we wouldn't be late for the movie, but once we got there we found out that almost all of the movies were sold out. Two movies had just come out the day before and both of the those were sold out, and the only movies that weren't sold out were the movies that we really didn't want to see. Sprinkler Drops

So today was another hot day, so we decided to put the sprinklers on so the grass wouldn't be so dry. This is a picture of a leaf from one of the trees that got sprayed by the sprinkler. After taking some pictures and not paying attention, I finally remembered that the sprinkler was still on. Before I could move, I began getting sprayed with water. Gone Fishing..

So today, Tyler opened the fishing set that my mom got him. It has a little fishing pole and 3 small fish the float in the water so you can hook them onto the pole. Lego Splash

So today was another pool day! I got the idea for this picture after I saw Tyler continuously throwing everything (boats, legos, etc.) into the pool and making splashes. For this picture I dropped a lego filled with waster into the pool and took a shot with a fast shutter speed to get the whole splash effect. The Town Crier

Alright so today is 'national town crier day'. I know the real meaning of a town crier is like a messenger, but when I first heard 'town crier' this is what I pictured. It took all day, but I waited for the perfect time to get a decent picture of someone crying. This was taken after we got out of the pool, and Madison wanted to go inside when she was soaking wet. I told her that we had to wait until she was dry, and then she started crying. I thought that this picture was amazing, because it really captured the emotion. Stay in Line..

So today I slept over my cousin Jonathan's house, and in the early afternoon, we went to the cemetery to visit my grandmother. While we were driving up to her spot, we saw a flock of turkeys. The turkeys were all in a line like they were about to race. I took the shot under a tree,  so there was a shadow that was cast over the turkeys, and that created a silhouette of the turkeys' bodies. So today was the graduation party that we went to for my cousin, Charlene. She just graduated college at Pace University in NY. This is not her actual diploma, but i rolled up a plain piece of paper, and wrapped it with a ribbon to make it look like one. Curly Qs

So today, me and Tyler went to go and check out the garden in the backyard. Once you look at the garden, the first thing that you see is the gigantic leaves of the pumpkins. You can't even see a little orange, but the leaves are huge. This is a picture of the vines that are coming out from the stems. Splish, Splish, Splash!

So today was a very nice day, and the kids really wanted to go into the kiddie pool. Well this is a picture of tyler splashing madison in the pool. You would think that Madison wouldn't like getting splashed in the face with water, but she actually likes when she gets splashed. Sometimes she even takes the little boat thats in the pool, and fills it with water to pour on her head. Well I hope it gets a little cooler so it gets more comfortable. "Little Curly"

Ok so today was really, really hot! And there is nothing better to cool yourself down than a nice bath. Well this is a picture from Madison's bath. This picture shows her hair when it was still wet. It shows how curly her hair actually is. When you pour water down her hair, it stretches down her back a couple of inches. Although, after a second or two, her hair just springs back up into curls. Play Ball...

So today was my cousin Daniel's last All-Star game. Although they lost, it was a very exciting game. This is a great action shot of one of the outfielders catching a ball. We didn't have the best seats to view the batter, but we had a great view of the outfield. The only other downside was that we had a big fence in front of us, and that is why there is gray lines across the picture. After fighting with the camera to focus on the baseball players instead of the fence, I started getting some great shots. Going Swimming...

So today is the Fourth of July! We went to a picnic at my cousin Daniel's house and there was a bunch of food and a bunch of family. Throughout the afternoon we were in and out of the pool. The pool was really relaxing when we would just float around and around the edge. In this picture I brought some red, white, and blue together. The goggles are blue and red and the bathing suit in the background brings in the white. I was told many times that we were going to get a pool when I was little, but that never happened so I usually go to Daniel's house when I want to go swimming. The Model Look

So today was a nice day, and we all went outside to play and relax. Madison loves going on the two seater swing and can sit on their for up to an hour! She loves just going back and forth, and loves it even more when I sit on it with her. This was a picture taken of her when she was sitting on one side while she was swinging. I called her name and she looked over her shoulder. I took the shot then, and once I put it on my computer, I put photoshopped it a little to make it black and white and cropped it. Light 'em up!

So today is my 15th birthday, and at nighttime we did fireworks in our backyard. These are not the fireworks that go in the air, but they are the best ones we could find that are safe enough for the backyard. This is a picture of a firework going off and shooting in all sorts of directions. We had to place the fireworks on a wooden board so that they wouldn't fall over and shoot at us, or anything else. This picture was taken with a long exposure so that we could see how the fireworks travel.

Another trick that we used a long exposure for was where we had my cousin standing, holding a sparkler in his hand, and then he would throw the sparkler across the yard while i had the shutter open. The result of this is a picture of a person holding a sparkler with a trail of light going to the ground. You can see this picture HERE. Testing it Out!

So today Tyler decided to test out the bench that was recently fixed by my dad. The wood was all falling apart and was in horrible shape.
