Shadow in the Light

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Well I went trick or treating today with the kids in Newtown and it was crazy! It was so crowded, but SO fun. I knew in my mind that I was going to get an interesting shot that night, and this is what I came up with. I took this shot while crossing the sheet, and it almost looks like the girl with the pigtails is going to get hit by the car, but the car was stopped (I promise). I really like how she is silhouetted against the lights but her pigtails are still lit up. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

The Brightness Inside

So today I began taking pictures for my photography final. I was taking some shots with a wine glass full of water outside, and I thought it would be really cool if I took a picture of the sun through the water in the glass. Time to Focus

Alright so today, I decided to break out the telephoto lens, and take some shots. I was taking pictures through my window (because it was FREEZING outside!) of some leaves and trees when I thought about taking this one. I knew that telephoto lenses have a very short depth of field, and thought that this might look cool if the clock is the main subject and everything else is blurred, so I went for it. This is not a photoshopped picture, and this is just how it came from the camera. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Wet Leaf

Today was such a dark and gloomy day! It was so boring and sad because the sun was almost never out! I only noticed the sun out during the late afternoon. I was in the kitchen and I noticed this one leaf on the table on our deck. It had drips from the rain all over it and the sun was hitting it beautifully. I really like how it came out, especially the glass under the leaf. It almost looks like it is on top of an ocean, but in reality it was just on top of a glass table with some rain water on it. Casual Brown

So when I was walking downstairs today, I noticed a really nice brown jacket on the bench. I had never seen it before, but when I looked at it, I saw that it was Madison's size. I decided that I just had to take a picture with her in the jacket and her brown uggs. Outside I had her put her hands in her pocket and pose for me. I took about thirty pictures and this was one of the nicest ones. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Hug in the Distance

So we went to Longview again today to do some more work, and the house is really coming along nicely. I took this picture when we were walking around the yard, and I had Amy and Rob walk in front of me and told them to stop and hug. I made the leaves in focus on purpose because I thought it would give it a nice effect and I think it did. I really like how the subject of the photo is blurred, and how the leaves aren't really the main subject of the photo but they are in focus. Kick Off

So today I went to a Uconn football game in Storrs, CT with part of the family. We tailgated before the game and it was really fun. I tried to take a close-up of a football at a cool angle to try to make it a little more interesting than just a plain football. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Feel the Heat

So today I decided to try and recreate an idea that I saw in a photo magazine. In the picture there just was a candle in a dark room, but for my picture I decided to add the finger. The Light Below

So today when I was walking into my room, I saw how cool the sunshine looked through the french doors. I thought that it would make a really nice picture because of how the light was being used. Orange Ya Happy?

So today, I decided to take a picture of one of those really little pumpkins that awe have in our house. The pumpkin is only, maybe 4 inches big but it looks really big in the picture. Looking Out

So when I was looking out the window today with Tyler at Amy's house, I saw him just leaning against the bottom, and I just loved how he looked. Long Shadows

So when I was looking out the window at Amy's house today, I saw this really cool picture in my head. I was looking at the trees and saw that shadows that they were all casting and I just knew that I had to take this picture. So today was homecoming at Masuk, and everyone really got into the spirit! It's really weird because if you didn't get all dressed up and into it, you kind of stood out. Falling in Action

So today I decided to take some more fall themed pictures, and I decided to take some for photo class too. I made a pile of leaves for Tyler and Princess to jump in, and they both had a lot of fun. For this one, I threw leaves in the air, and told Tyler to catch them. He did catch a couple, but ended up falling over backwards in the process. Fall Hugs

So today I really wanted to bring the kids outside to take some fall themed pictures. I brought them into an area in the front yard that has a lot of leaves and I grabbed the big pumpkin that we had on our front steps. Sunset Gradient

So I was at Amy's house today, and when I was looking out the window I saw how cool the sunset looked against all the christmas trees. I just had to go and take a picture before the the sun moved. The Smell of Awareness

So today, while my mom was out she got this pink flower because of breast cancer awareness. Tyler really liked the flower so I decided to take some pictures with him and the flower. I told him to smell the flower, and the first picture looked a little funny, but once I told him to close his eyes, the picture looked a lot better. Hold your Heart

So today I went outside with Tyler to take some random pictures. We were just about to go back inside when Tyler found this leaf that looked just like a heart. I decided to take some more pictures before we went back inside. I was trying to get Tyler to hold up the leaf at a certain angle so he was a silhouette and the leaf was lit up by the sun, but that didn't work out. Sizing Up

So the fall is definitely coming.. The weather is getting colder (UGH!), and the leaves are beginning to fall. I think the worst part of the fall is the weather. I took this picture taking three of the pumpkins that we have out for decorations and brought them out onto the grass. The grass is always an easy backdrop for almost any picture. Walking Along...

So we went to Longview farm again today, and we were walking around the property. Rob and Maddie started walking away and I tried to take a good picture of them just casually walking away holding hands, and this is what I got. I really like it because they are not directly in the center of the picture, which I usually try to stay away from doing. I feel that if you make something off center, even if it is a boring subject, it can be made into something interesting. Something as simple as two people walking can be made into a really interesting shot. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

The Night Sky

So today when I was in the kitchen, I looked outside and saw the moon, and how cool it looked. The sun was still on the horizon, so that is why the sky is still all orangey, and I love how the sky has such a cool gradient to it. Fading Away

This picture that I took today ended up coming out to be pretty interesting. I took this picture by having the lens zoomed all the way in on Princess, and while the shutter was open, I zoomed the camera out, and that made the camera sense the background a little, therefore making it look like Princess is fading away on the right. Leaf in Hand

So I was once again taking pictures for photo today, and I am still taking pictures for changing of season. I simply took this one by taking a dried up leaf that had fallen already and placed it in my hand. The only problem that I did have with taking this picture was that I had a doctor's appointment today, and I had gotten a finger prick, so I had to hide the Loony Tunes band-aid that they put on my finger. I really like the contrast between the leaf and my hand also, which usually makes for a good picture. Well I hope you all had a nice day, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
