They're Taking Over!

So me and Tyler checked out the plants in the garden today that we planted. We planted string beans, flowers, and pumpkins! We are most excited about the pumpkins. We heard that if we were going to plant pumpkins, that we should give them plenty of space because they would slowly begin to take over a big portion the garden, which is definitely happening. This picture shows just how big the pumpkin leaves are, and if the leaves are getting to be this big, then I can't wait to see how big the actual pumpkins are going to be when October comes around! Coming Up to Say Hello!

So today we went to Gouveia Vineyards again. At these vineyards, they have a pretty big lake, and in this lake they have fish and turtles! The turtles were awesome! If you looked out onto the lake, you would be able to see a bunch of little turtle heads popping out of the water. If you put your hand in the water and splashed it around a little, then a turtle would actually come up to it and stay there until you pulled your hand away. To take this picture, I had to take my hand and splash the water to have a turtle come over, and then move my hand away really quickly before the turtle left to take the picture. I think that the picture came out pretty cool, because it looks like the turtle is actually looking at the camera. Well I hope you all have a nice day, and I'll talk to you soon.

Keep it Poppin'

So today I went out to dinner at our usual portuguese restaurant with the posse. When we came back from the restaurant we went to my cousins house, and when we were there we had some popcorn. I thought that would make a really cool picture if I took a kinda-close-up of the popcorn in its bowl. Bonfire Party

Alright so I went to a friend's 16th birthday party today, and at this party was a bonfire. The bonfire was pretty cool, because whenever the fire would begin to get even a little low, the birthday girl's dad would add a bunch of wood and make the fire HUGE! This was a picture of bits and pieces from the invitation, and I burnt the edges to symbolize the bonfire. Well the only bad thing about this party was the mosquitos. Slice it Up!

So today was Pizza Day again! YUM :]  Well we made the usual: 1 cheese, 1 pepperoni, 1 mushroom, and 1 pepper & onion. As usual, they were all delicious! Well this was a pretty simple picture, after I cut the pizza I lifted a slice of the pizza with the pizza cutter and then took the picture with the other hand. Play Ball!

So today was my aunt Theresa's birthday. She plays softball and her team won today! She must have been happy that her team won on her birthday. Well there is a LOT going on in this picture. There is the sun beaming on us (it was really hot!), there is a little rainbow in the clouds, and there is the softball game going on the bottom. Cheese Me Baby!

So today was a normal chillaxin day. Although, for dinner tonight I made homemade mac and cheese! It actually came out pretty good, although the top of the mac and cheese got really hard! I don't know if I put it in the oven for too long, or if it was the bread crumbs. Well this is a picture of all that was left. Considering that I made a big serving tray full of mac and cheese plus this little dish, and this is all that was left told me that it was pretty good. Going Green

So me and my dad always collect the glass bottles, plastic bottles, and cans that we drink. Once we fill a garbage can of recyclables, we bring them to our local grocery store and recycle them. Well it is an easy way to do our part in saving the planet. Everyone's effort helps. This was a simple picture taken on the garage concrete to give it a more industrial look. Roast 'em Up!

So today was the first day that we used our fire pit. It was really cool, we all sat around it in our comfortable chairs, and after dinner we roasted MARSHMALLOWS! Woo-h00! The Light Shining Through...

Ok so nothing really interesting happened today. We painted the lattice on our porch, but other than that, I pretty much just chilled at our house. This is a picture of the clouds above us while painting. The sun is trying to poke its way through the clouds. I love the way the sun's rays are shining around the clouds and how they light the blue. The only enhancement in this picture is that I upped the saturation so there was a greater contrast between the clouds and the sky. The First Summer Sun...

So today is the first partial day of summer! WOO-HOO! Ok, so summer is totally my favorite season. This is a silhouette of a flower in the first summer sun. This is not a full silhouette because some of the yellow of the flower is still visible. In a complete silhouette, the object in the sun is completely black. I think that the yellow gives it a little 'something'. Well this was the first summer sun, and I thought that it needed to be used for today's picture. Focusing on Growth...

So, today when I was looking out the window, I noticed a bird landing in a tree. When I walked outside to check it out, I noticed that there was a decent sized birds nest in the tree. I think that it is so cool how these birds build these nests that look so perfect. After taking the shot, I uploaded it into photoshop and changed the focus onto the nest. The Power of Exposure

Alright so today was the last day of school! Thank goodness! Freshman year is over. I was so tired of being called a 'freshman'. The freshman are always the kids who are picked on because they are the youngest kids in the school, and everyone has the freshman acting like slaves.

Well for this picture, I went outside and changed the exposure on my camera to 4 seconds, and then I began taking picture of the cars driving by our house. Believe me, some people thought I was really weird just sitting at the in the front of my lawn with something in my hands pointing at the cars. Well in this picture, I was just taking a picture of a car driving and then it began to pull into the driveway next door. I turned the camera to follow the car and that is why the lights are going in all different directions, and I think that gave it a really cool look. The Negatives...

So tomorrow is finally the last day of school! Thank Goodness!! This is a picture of a quote that I found today. I thought that it was  a really good quote and I felt that it should be shared. I wrote the quote on paper, and then took the shot. I imported the photo to Lightroom and really enhanced it. When you are just doing a picture as simple as this, you really need to make a statement. Alright so I finally finished my painting. I have to say, this is one of my favorites. I hung it up in my room and I am really proud to show it off. Painting in Progress...

So today I began another painting, although this is a somewhat different type of painting from what I usually do, I usually do only black and white paintings, but this time I decided to add some color and make it on a bigger scale! I found some of my older paints from a older painting that I did for the dining room, and used it for this one. This painting is also on two pieces of wood! This picture is a small preview of how the whole picture is going to turn out. Hopefully I will be able to finish the painting by tomorrow so I could post a final picture. With a Glass in Hand...

So today, we celebrated Amy's 30th with the posse. We went to Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford, CT. This is a very nice place, and very relaxing. This is just a simple picture of a wine glass full of one of Gouveia's signature wines and some grapes hanging off the side. All About the Trees

So today I did another painting. This one started off as a cherry blossom tree, but I don't know exactly what it ended up being. I think it looks decent though. After I did the painting I let it dry and then brought it outside where I placed it in a tree to then snap the shot. Counting Down

So there is only 5 days of school left! I am really excited, other the fact that we have finals the last 4 days of school. But tomorrow is the LAST day of classes! =] All of our classes are just about going over older information to study for the finals. For today's picture, I took a picture of the calendar that we have in the kitchen. We marked the last day of school, and after I uploaded the picture, I blurred the other dates and changed the number in photoshop. Happy Ball Point Pen Day!

Ok, so nothing new today. It was hot, so we had a half day of school and then the kids went in the pool after school. Everything else that happened was just normal. Looking Up

So today we put together one our new fire pit that we bought last week. We were a little nervous of some of the trees above the fire pit, because some of the branches were hanging a little low. Cooling Off

Heat it Up!

Home-Made Macro

So today I decided that I wanted to make a cheap macro lens for myself. I like taking close up shots of things, but couldn't always get that close. Today I made a lens out of an old film container top and a small glass lens. I had to cut the cap for the lens to fit and so it was able to snap onto my camera. I took this picture of an ant crawling with the macro lens while the camera was on the macro setting. I hope you all have a nice day, and I'll talk to u soon!

At the Nursery

So we stopped by the flower nursery today and picked up some flowers and a tree for the front yard. We also had another family party today. Ugh!
